House Oversight Dems - Cummings and @CongressmanRaja - announce investigation into Elaine Chao, the Transportation secretary and wife of Mitch McConnell, contending she may be using her office to “benefit herself and her family.”

The framers of The Constitution put too much faith in men (and women) possessing integrity and decency and a willingness to do the right thing. The guardrails should have always been higher. Now it seems they are laying on the ground and easily stepped over.

Now Mitch McConnell's going to sit in his office, arms folded, and hold his breath. Nothing will get done in the Senate, and it'll be all the Democrats' fault.

At least, that's the analysis we'll get from the chucktodds.

The Committee has to use "may", at this point, but it's ok for the rest of us to say, "has and is using her office" for personal gain, based on reports in public media.
