The Empty Chair is still leading the news cycle.

in this day and age, that's nothing short of amazing. And it's great for dems that the chair has staying power. It's the top story on the Google News page. The lead story out of the Philadelphia Inquirer is titled: Eastwood Unseats Romney.

1. They draw attention to that on UK tv news too.

The chair stole the show from Romney. Romney's speech was regarded as lacking substance - bit like what occupies the space between his ears really.

He supported McCain. He supported Nixon. He's a Ron Paul fan.

You're deluding yourself.

5. Yes, I was dead wrong about that.

that was a prediction. This isn't. This is about logic. You are suggesting that a life long republican/libertarian who has NEVER supported the President and has a long history of supporting repubs, deliberately went to the repub convention to fuck over a man who he had previously endorsed and donated money to? That strains credulity. Simple logic and the most basic critical thinking indicates you are wrong.

6. I made a prediction too in both cases..

In both cases my prediction came true, Akin stayed in the race and Eastwood took a dump on Romney's campaign.

Movie making takes a great deal of planning and foresight, Eastwood knows how to play the long game.

7. no, it's not a prediction when something has already happened. it's analysis.

Your analysis is not founded on any known fact. It's a hunch, intuition, whatever, but it makes no sense at all. Eastwood did not take a dump on Romney's campaign intentionally. He played to the house. He put vile words in President Obama's mouth. He used a throat slitting gesture in reference to the President. He used stereotypical repuke lines against him.

It's just absurd to say he did this on purpose.

The man has been playing the PR game for a very long time, he knows how it works at a bone deep level most of us will never even approach.

It was Buchanan's 92 speech revisited but this time I think the over the top nature was deliberate.
