Election 2019: William Lindstedt for Broomfield (CO) City Council
William recently purchased his first home just a few miles from where he grew up in Broomfield. He has seen how our community has grown and changed and he knows firsthand the obstacles our city and county needs to tackle.
Growing up, things werent always easy for William. His family circumstances were never the most stable: his father left when William was in fifth grade. He knows what its like to grow up in a household that struggles to make the bills and how hard it can be to get by in todays economy. Many of his Thanksgiving dinners were provided by Broomfield Fish, and if it werent for support from his teachers, neighbors, and friends, he might not have succeeded. William started working as a teenager to help pay the bills doing just about anything he could, from manual labor to walking dogs.
After graduating high school, he put himself through college working multiple jobs. Eventually, William got involved and took an internship in the Colorado House of Representatives, helping Broomfield residents interact with their state government. William worked his way through multiple positions to become a staffer for the House leadership. He has also worked for many progressive causes in Broomfield including his advocacy for better public transportation and his service as the Vice Chair of the Broomfield Democratic Party.
William has a degree in political science from the University of Colorado Denver and is currently completing a masters in Public Administration. During his free time, you will find him with his significant other, Bria, and their retired racing greyhound, Pax, on the many trails and in open spaces across the Front Range.
