(3,538 posts)It seems to me that the biggest difference lies with fathers who live with their children vs. those who dont, for obvious reasons given the activities polled (putting to bed at night, reading to their children, etc.). So the obvious question would be what percentage of fathers in the different groups live with their children?. If 99% of white respondents, for example, no longer live with children they have fathered, then it would be entirely accurate to say white men, as a group, spend less time parenting their children then other ethnic groups.
By separating the survey into 2 groups they give us no idea of the total number of fathers who are actively involved in their childrens lives. Its very interesting information, just somewhat incomplete.
