What would hinder Democratic candidates more

At all levels in the 2020 election:

-talking about impeachment for four years but never putting it to a vote?

Or

-calling a vote for an impeachment inquiry and falling about 60 votes short of passing in the House?

And if the latter happens do we try to primary those who did not vote for the impeachment?

In the Speaker's shoes, she is in a no-win situation

-of she doesn't call a vote, she gets criticized for lacking leadership
-if she calls a vote and it fails, she gets criticized for being an ineffective leader
-if she calls a vote and it passes, the Senate will acquit and she gets criticized for not waiting for more evidence.

Whatever the Senate does is on the Senate. The Speaker of the House has many powers, but the power to run the Senate is not among them. When a cop arrests someone in good faith (witnessed the person commit a crime, executed a duly sworn arrest warrant), it's not up to the cop to decide whether to bring charges or prosecute the wrong-doer.

But much of this process is emotional.

I believe she would get less criticism if she could twist enough arms to send it to the Senate but I think there would be a vocal minority who would say "You waited this long, why didn't you wait for x, y or z"

That reprobate will have a death grip on the desk when they try to pull him out of the oval office. He knows real consequences await his criminal ass if he doesn't get reelected and outlast the statute of limitations. New York's counting down the minutes, fuck face.

What will make him quit the race/resign for four years.
If there is one thing I am 100% certain of is that he is not going to walk away, because he is narcissistic.

He believes he can beat anything anyone tries to pin on him. Resigning would be admitting he can't win.
