Scott Brown is running a dumb ad in Massachusetts

The ad is about the fishing industry, and how fishermen aren't doing very well. He blames the problem on government regulation; if we get rid of the regulations on fishing, everything will be OK.

Anyone with any brains knows that the problem with the fishing industry is overfishing. The government limits fishing, in hopes that some of the fish will come back. If you allowed fishermen to fish all they want, all the fish will soon be gone, and fishermen will be in much worse shape.

Brown has been running this stupid ad several times in the evening.

1. As a POLITICAL ad, it is not stupid, I think.

He is going for the votes of those who don't believe in regulations, and who would be happy catching every last fish this year, and think the government is lying.
Also, "anyone with any brains" - this is campaign stuff, brains are not welcome.

3. Does anyone care what brown says? We know it's going to be an inaccurate distortion or outright lie.

Elizabeth Warren for senate

Elizabeth will be speaking at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday night with President Bill Clinton.

She was asked to speak because President Obama knows that Elizabeth is one of the strongest advocates for what's at stake for the middle class -- and our shared vision to move the country forward.

The Republicans no doubt will be coming after us hard -- not only as we fight for working families here in Massachusetts, but also as we take the case to the country about what's at stake between President Obama and Mitt Romney.

We need to give Elizabeth all the support she needs as she plays this pivotal role at the convention.

Stand with Elizabeth Warren and Barack Obama

people believe what seems to work to support their place in society and validate their personal choices. they don't concern themselves with broader issues such as the balance of nature or what they leave behind for the next generation.
after all, the world is going to end sometime anyway so why save things we need today for tomorrow?
someone/thing greater than they has a plan and will take care of things.

not a very conservative attitude when one thinks about it.

He's playing on a popular narrative -- regulations are bad for bidness. It will work, because people swim in a sea of this meme. Any considerations of "what the right policy is" aren't really even on the radar.

I thought to myself, "Which of his several dumb ads is this about?" I thought the one with his wife telling people how much he understands women was bad. And the one where he visits the Korean War vet doesn't even say anything about Brown. Brown simply talks about the vet and thanks him for his service. The vet is admirable, and did brave things. But what does that have to do with Brown?

7. It's very effective - it makes him look like he cares. Plus, he gets to look "outdoorsy."
