He would be in the discussion as one of the greatest.

No president in my lifetime has come in to office with the deck stacked against him like our President has. So many hurdles placed in front of him and he wades through it like the true public servant that he is.

He is pragmatic. He knows the country is deeply divided and pursues a realistic agenda. I believe he would present a much more progressive agenda if the political climate was different.

With respect to historic significance, it is unfortunate that he became President in the current political climate. With respect to the "here and now", we are very fortunate that he is countering the rapid descent back to the middle ages.

4. My husband said basically the same thing.

He was a Kansas-born, evangelical conservative Repub until 2008.
When I was fretting about President Obama a year or so ago, he
said, "no, I think he's EXACTLY the kind of person we need as president right now."

I agree with you, too. I truly believe the president to be a progressive,
through and through. If he'd come out swinging, turning everything
on its ear from the start, Rmoney would be ahead 20 points by now.
