33. There's no telling how many such people there are or whether any will blow the whistle.

We don't know what Atkinson told Congress, or what Volker will tell Congress. Or if any of the witnesses mentioned by the whistleblower will testify. We don't know if testimony behind closed doors can have the kind of impact we need it to have to sway public opinion, which Republican Senators will be watching closely. We don't know if Schiff and Co. will get the server or other information that they need. Unfortunately, people are able to ignore subpoenas without consequences, because the process of holding someone accountable can take years.

There's so much we don't know yet. I want Trump gone so, so badly, and I'm trying to be hopeful. Republicans in the House and Senate know that if they remove Trump from office, it'll likely splinter the Republican electorate and make 2020 a landslide for Dems. It's going to take a lot for them to convict Trump. Cult 45 will revolt if they do.
