Really??!! He frickin' lied about his marathon run time!!!

You know I am impressed by anyone who can even run a marathon regardless of what time they run it in.

I have been out of state for 3 days in a rural dead zone with no Internet or cell. So I'm here eating a sandwich at panera in Strousburg PA and first chance to catch up on the world.

And now I read that Ryan is such a douchebag of a liar that he shaved an hour off his marathon run time.

I mean to run the marathon in 4 hours is pretty damn impressive. So why does this idiot thinks he has to lie and claim 3 hours, which is a very competitive time.

Paul Ryan is a lying asshole. I don't trust anything he says

It looks like Ryan did run the full Grandma's marathon but his time was not as good as he claims. His real time was above average so he did fairly well and he could have been honest and no one would have frowned on his time but instead he decided to lie and this lie will follow him.

Sep 2012

It is not the biggest or most important lie he has told but it is a lie that everyone can understand and there is no way to spin it from a political perspective. Enough people believe lies about policy that politicians are able to get away with them, lies about non-political topics often hurt politicians far more because there is no ideological way to spin a lie like this. I certainly on't think this is even close to the worst of his lies, but it will likely damage him more than the really big lies.

I once ran a 3:01:43 at the Disney Marathon, which was very difficult and painful.
A 4 hour marathon is exponentially slower than a 3 hour run. My 3:10's and 3:20's were distinctively less painful than a 3:01. Not even close.

Yet completing a marathon Period is a great accomplishment. Ryan is such a tool for feeling he has to Lie about his finish time.

Check out this exchange. I know parsing is often nitpicking but notice that the host asks about marathons (plural) and Ryan answers yes and then says his best was under three. This implies that he has completed several marathons. However, he only completed one and the time was 4:01:25. An honest man would have corrected the host and said that I have only completed one, not leave the mistaken impression that he has done several. If you had only completed one marathon, you would certainly know the exact time and even if you were a little off, in no way could over 4 minutes be rounded down to under 3 minutes. Pure self-aggrandizement and braggadocio.

HH: Are you still running?

PR: Yeah, I hurt a disc in my back, so I don’t run marathons anymore. I just run ten miles or yes.

HH: But you did run marathons at some point?

PR: Yeah, but I can’t do it anymore, because my back is just not that great.

HH: I’ve just gotta ask, what’s your personal best?

PR: Under three, high twos. I had a two hour and fifty-something.

HH: Holy smokes. All right, now you go down to Miami University…

PR: I was fast when I was younger, yeah.

Sun Sep 2, 2012, 08:02 PM

He'd have to be running - sustained - at less than 7 minute miles. That's a tall order for professional athletes. Best time for the Boston Marathon in 2012 was 2:02. That's with someone that is a world class runner. 2:18 was the previous world record.

Paul Ryan is full of shit. He's claiming times that were top ten winners in many marathons. Again, conclusion: Full of shit.

...and every single one said that there is no way in hell a marathon runner would "misstate" his time by an hour.

Four hours is a great time. However, three hours is a crown jewel that will qualify you for the Boston Marathon. There is a huge, vast difference between three and four hours.

Paul Ryan knows that.

This just adds to the fright that is Paul Ryan. I knew a guy in college who lied about his accomplishments and exaggerated his successes. He was incredibly messed up and he was also a malignant narcissist frat boy.
