1. constituion has no mandate on time frame and a simple 51% vote

by senate can "delay a trial" and ALL senate floor business must past thru the majority leader and he can run the clock out to Nov 2020 easy enough

Don't cross the bridge before we get to it Our fears about this are a reaction and that seems to be the strategy from our opposition. Being calm and confident for now brings us to reasonable responses and that's a better strategy.

These are times that can encourage the tendency to think in catastrophic ways. A lot can, and probably will, happen before we get to that point.

But if he doesn't, he would seal his fate for reelection- so win/win in my book.

8. That has been the excuse until quite recently

by Nancy Pelosi not to start proceedings in the House. Lucky us, Trump finally did something so egregious (phone call to Ukraine) that she has finally realized that impeachment needs to happen.

Let's worry about the Senate after the House had done its duty.
