When "quid pro quo" becomes "услуга за услугу"

Yслуга за услугу is the Russian translation of the Latin phrase, "quid pro quo." Yслуга means service, so the phrase literally means "A service for a service." That's pronounced "ooslooga za oosloogoo," with the second syllable getting the emphasis.

So, what Yслуга will Trump get from Russia for letting the Turks attack the Kurds in Syria? Maybe it simply will be the Russians continuing not to release the compromising information it has on Donald J. Trump. Or is there some other exchange in the works we don't know about.

Certainly, Trump is doing a service for the Russians with his sudden announcement that the USA won't stand in the way of Turkey and Russian attacking the Kurds. That's clear. But what does Trump expect in return? What has he been promised that led him to act without even consulting his own military advisers and without any warning?

I don't know, but the Russians gave him some reason to do as he did. I think that's clear.

I'd like to, though, and it might be worth an investigation by the House Intelligence Committee as part of their impeachment inquiry.

[Had the sickening feeling about the meese Medal of Honor. That the was a dangling carrot for the totally corrupt barr, - that trump might give barr a Medal of Honor, if barr continued to be a good boy roy cohn - maybe even a soon coming award].

He has never even served in the US military. He worked for the CIA at one time, before entering the DOJ for his primary career. The Congressional Medal of Honor is only awarded to military personnel for extreme bravery and heroism under fire.

Ed Meese also did not receive the Medal of Honor. Perhaps you're thinking of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, a completely different honor that has nothing whatever to do with bravery or heroism.
