Is there any left on NPR's "Left, Right and Center?"

Today's program included ten minutes on whether Elizabeth Warren is a liar because she hadn't previously been heard fully explaining her feelings of losing a job as a result of being pregnant.

No discussion about her policies, only "Bernie's heart attack will help her" horse race bs.

Now they're discussing "negotiating" with China to stop it from forcing our companies to just shut their damn pie holes.

My opinion?

Nobody asked the "right" guy whether it bothers him that Trump outright lies about much more leadership-relevant matters probably several times a day. And if China is going to keep up with the concentration camps, face recognition and other Black Mirror shit, maybe we should just get out. Over time, get out.

There were doing a story on Trump's whining about how he is being deprived of his due process.

Not a word from them about how the impeachment investigation and the trial where he gets the conservative chief justice to oversee his trial, 50 GOP Senators as his jurors, and a defense team is his due process.

Not a fn word.

Yes I said what has been obvious for a long time.

NPR pursues bothsidesism, which creates biases toward the side that is willing to lie more. Which means NOR on many issues is effectively biased rightward.

Too many people want it to be the Fox of the left.

They do their best to deal with facts and have way more Democratic Representatives on than republicans.

Not once when they report on the president’s claim about Biden have I not heard them say there is no evidence backing it up. They let both sides have their say but are not afraid to fact check.

All on the right hate them, some on the lefty dislike them, so they are doing something right.

But I find it a bit sad. At some point they need to just tell everyone to stop talking about the Biden corruption crap because there's no such evidence. They let people drone on about it constantly, but people think it must be a real problem because they heat about it so much. What are Republicans always saying again? "It's a Nothing Berger"? There's no There There.

And then fact correct them. NPR does that.

I don’t want NPR to be a left wing Fox News where opposing views are not heard.

And I need to hear the BS being pushed by the right. On NPR the right tries hard not to go to conspiracy world because it will be called out.

Take the Economy. Every right wing guy on NPR touts the economy. And there is no denying it has done well by standard measurement. But on NPR they will tell you Trump inherited a good economy and talk about the debt as well. And have lots of articles on those left behind.

I know it comfortable to listen to only voices that always agree with us. I watch MSNBC and listen to progressive radio on Sirius radio. But it is not healthy to listen to voices that only confirm our biases.

My dad was a journalism major. I grew up when even medium sized towns had competing papers. In our town one was liberal in its editorial and one was conservative. We took both. Dad was generally liberal but read both and insisted I did as well.

New Yorker
Crooked Media
Guardian
BBC Radio 4
Talking points memo
All Things Considered
Etc.

Just don’t listen to NPR on politics. Like NYT they have been hopelessly twisted and exploited by rightwing lying. They have no answer for it.

I listen to the radio.

I listen to the BBC as well.

I don’t listen to news for conformation bias.

Accord to many here the economy has totally tanked. Just like trump supporters who say the economy sucked till he got in office.

Neither are true. He inherited the best recovery ever. It has not yet gone into recession. May be close.

But a news report that tells you the economy is in free fall is not being honest.

I personally believe we are about to head into recession due to the trade war and unnecessary debt caused by the crazy tax cut. But that is not certain.

15. Time to start. Podcasts are the real news of our time

Broadcast media has become corporate news with a corporate bent.
That includes NPR- taken over by its board which is largely corporate donors.

And the BBC has been corrupted by the Tory party which has spent years trying to bias it by jamming it full of Tory propagandists. (Radio 4 is still good in my view).

Podcasts are the real news of our time.

of minorities and immigrants, large prison population, etc. Don’t think we will improve situation in China by pulling out. And, we’ll probably hurt a lot of folks here.

I still prefer NPR, PBS to most other talk/news shows. Most people don’t need to be reminded how bad trump is. Everyone knows that, some people just don’t care.
