(32,908 posts)It makes a lot more sense than Mitt Romney. Any GOP candidate will flop after the Chump shit-show.
So of course Ted Cruz thinks he should try for it.

(19,569 posts)He's not up for re-election this cycle, so he's definitely thumbing his nose at Trump, albeit a tiny one. The vultures are beginning to circle.

(15,201 posts)he is certainly opportunistic. That's kind of how he won his Senate seat in the first place.
He is such a disgusting creep!

(15,525 posts)That makes him pretty dangerous. He came close to beating Trump in the primaries, or at least the closest.

(19,569 posts)Yet look where we are.
Cruz is actually smarter than Trump and just as vile, except a slightly different flavor of vile. Cruz is more oily and slimy with a backend of fresh death, where as Trump is more decomp and new blood. Neither are less bad.

Now he can tell the difference between right and wrong? His timing is interesting to say the least.

(2,495 posts)In my mind the way that came about was he was asking a political consultant, "Why don't people like me?" and the answer was, "you know, I think its your face..."

(10,721 posts)One can't be blamed for thinking there was enough sanity in this country to keep that asshole out of the White House.
The media certainly didn't help matters. And 25 years of Hillary Hate took a serious toll. And the electoral college, a remnant of slavery, also didn't help.
Still, Trump is illegitimate. There can be no doubt that crimes were instrumental in his "winning."
The fact that he and Cruz combined for 70% of the votes is a testament to the madness of the GOP base.
