OP
That traveling "free clinic" was in Charlotte a while back. Sounds like NC needed more help.

He did a lot of not publicized charity work in Chicago when he was here. But just think if this

As long as people have access to health care, these facts are just not important.

Then again, tens of millions of Americans do since we don't guarantee basic health coverage for all.

country was like other countries and we had healthcare for all how he could put that charity money into economic development or better education for the community

(1,278 posts)4. Some points of clarification here
- Michael Jordan's actual home town is New York City, NY His links to North Carolina are High School in Wilmington (208 mi SE) and UNC-Chapel Hill (137 mi NE).
- Novant Health is a sponsor of the Charlotte Hornets. A hospital chain from Winston-Salem NC.
This is not to diminish what he is doing, but these facts can be overlooked by out of town journalists.

(1,278 posts)6. That area of town where the clinic is...
Is vastly underserved in many ways, not just Medically. I know, it is part of the "hood" not unlike and far from where I live, also hood. The area is reasonably close to center city and is rapidly gentrifying. Plus it's the "other" team if you will in Healthcare dominance in a county that's now over 1 Million residents, though in some ways still have big city envy.
