20. I read his graphic novel about his family's internment

The title is They Called us Enemy, written from the point of view of himself at that age and at his age now. But more than just a story of the Japanese Internment it is a powerful and loving tribute to his parents.

His father became a community leader in the camp and was looked to for help by the Japanese community afterwards, when they had to adjust to a new life with nothing to their names. His mother worked hard to make things as normal for the children as possible, to create a home and environment where the children could just be children.

I recommend it highly.
