Trump's use of the word lynching was not spontaneous, it was carefully planned.

Trump is using the word LYNCH to suggest to his supporters that his very life is in danger.

If he agitates them enough some of the folks he called "Second Amendment people" may come to his aid by assassinating Members of Congress and/or witnesses.

PS: On second thought, by using the word LYNCH, Trump sees the House investigation leading to the end of his Presidency. He no longer counts on a Republican Senate to swat away the articles of impeachment; he expects it to finish with his removal from office. Clinton didn't act so panicky, he knew that that Democratic-controlled Senate would save him but Trump no longer has confidence in his own partisans in the current Senate.
