I've seen Lithgow in so many different roles. He is tremendously talented. He played the nasty villain in Sylvester Stallone's film, "Cliffhanger." He also played the lead in the Broadway musical, "The Sweet Smell of Success." Yes, he can sing. (The musical was quite awful, unfortunately.) He's been nominated for 6 Tony awards and won once.

In addition, I met him on one occasion and he couldn't have been a more gracious gentleman.

I just ordered his e-book. Mr. Lithgow is a creative treasure.
