(46,720 posts)Decades ago, when there was a political kerfuffle in Panama, a politico was bloodied and the person standing next to him was splattered with the blood. He might have been a rival or an over-ambitious advisor a la Al Haig, "I'm in charge type." I don't remember all the details, except the guy went on television still wearing the bloodied shirt and tried to play the sympathy card. Panamanians are a very skeptical people. Someone piped in that the guy was using "sangre ajena" to win over people to his cause. It means blood that belongs to someone else. Not yours.
Trump is basically doing the same thing. Trying to exploit the shock value from lynchings, that are an exclusive black American experience, for his own purpose.

(7,809 posts)The punchline: Newt Gingrich, who cheated on wife #1 with wife #2, then cheated on wife #2 with wife #3, and Henry Hyde, who broke up his mistress's marriage because of his youthful indiscretion, decided that lying about a BJ was the ultimate offense to the country. And it took Larry Flynt to point this out.
