Will Congress ever get the actual tape recording of Trump's call to Zelensky?

Since Republicans insist on hearing Trump’s quid pro quo from his own mouth before considering impeachment, why can’t it be produced? If Trump never said it, he would be exonerated by letting the public hear his own words.

Trump, who has several times called his telephone call with Zelensky "perfect," nevertheless refuses to release the full transcript (as opposed to the heavily barbered memo of the call) or the recording of the call. You'd think that an innocent man would be eager to supply the House and the American people with the exculpatory evidence that totally exonerates him. Instead, he hides it away on double secret code word probation. Puzzling, if Trump's as innocent as he claims to be. Perfectly understandable if Trump isn't as innocent as he claims to be.

So, what reasonable conclusion should we draw?

Not since Nixon. Wonder why?

They are transcribed by several people, who get together and do up an accurate recounting of the call. That full transcript is the one we don't have. It's on the special server.

You can’t send your minions out to demand an investigation in exchange for military aid and a meeting with the president and claim you are innocent just because you avoided saying “quid quo pro” in a phone call

If he did say it that’s good but don’t fall for that trap.

I’ve actually been wondering if the reason he calls the phone call perfect is that he managed not to get recorded saying “quid pro quo”. It’s as if his staff made him rehearse for hours so he wouldn’t screw up and then told him what a great job he did.

He probably got an extra scoop too.
