NYT f*cked up bigly.

On Friday, the NYT did a piece about a podcast Secretary Clinton did with David Plouffe. They incorrectly quoted her saying that the “Russians” were “grooming” a candidate running in the Democratic primary. They rightfully fixed it to reflect that she was taking about the GOP.

In yesterday’s paper, @superwusterwrote an opinion piece accusing Secretary Clinton of trading in conspiracy theories, based off of comments that she didn’t make.

I too am tired of talking about this, but let’s again set the record straight. HRC speculated that the only way the GOP is going to win in states where Trump can’t hit a 50% majority is to 1) Suppress the vote, as they do widely and routinely, & 2) Bank on the 3rd party spoiler.

And yes, she said that certain fringe members of the Democratic and Green parties are assets to the Russians. Well guess what folks? That’s true. She didn’t call anyone a spy, as some are wrongly asserting for their own political gain.

... snip

But on the same day that the NYT buries the end of the email saga on A16 after years of breathless coverage, & 2 days after they correct their own story about Secretary Clinton’s comments, this warrants some pushback.

... is blasting that to high heaven like they did Clinton's emails.

The NYT doesn't like the Clinton's we get it, but that shit has got us Trump and they continue to this day.

This is some shit here, NYT needs to straighten up and fly right.

has been going on for I don't know how long. I haven't been studying it that long. For years, though.

But it seems to me that sometimes, especially starting autumn 2016, their insidiously negative slant that matches the MSM usual becomes dangerously blatant misreporting, and I wonder what is triggering it. Approaching the 2016 election as a reason for the Halloween article claiming the FBI found nothing in Trump-Russia was obvious. But how about all the events since that have become almost usual, like these recent attempts at everything from normalizing Trump's economic problems to this?

It's like protecting Trump/Repubs (and/or themselves?) is more important to people in power than protecting the NYT's reputation.

their non-stop attempts to undermine every justice movement in my lifetime (anti-war movement, Women's rights, Civil rights, Occupy Wall St) to normalize Trump's Fascism is proof. We're talking television network news and major newspapers like the NY Times.
