Sorry, but this Democrat does not feel elated on Chris Matthews once again playing the race-card.
The 3am ad. Remember it? It was an ad run by the campaign of Obama's current Secretary of State. Obama himself never suggested it was racist, but Matthews swore it was. In order to find racism in that ad Matthews had t o resort to weird leaps. http://www.sodahead.com/fun/is-hillary-clintons-300-am-ad-racist-chris-matthews-seems-to-think-so/question-60377/
Here's a test: If the Obama campaign is not running ads accusing Romney of racism, then Obama/Biden do not agree with Matthews
Let's not get weird. Bain + Tax Returns + Romney's and Ryan's lies and their platforms are the problems.

(61,604 posts)Somebody else, who wrote the column, claims that Matthews suggested that the ad was racist but there is no quote. The whole thing is incredibly vague and besides, it's more than four years old.
What is the point of this?

(59,503 posts)Imagine that John Edwards, not Obama, had become the "non-Hillary". I can see the same ad being made and used - for the same reason. (Yet it would not have worked if Biden, Dodd or Richardson had made it out of third tier or if John Kerry stayed in and was the "non Hillary"
She was essentially saying she and McCain were ready - and Obama, whoever good he was wasn't.
This is a case where CM is assuming race when there is NO reason to think race.
