Ted Lieu: Trump enablers will blanch at what comes out. . .

during the open hearings.

On what went on this week, a reminder:

These aren't hearings. These are investigative interviews, with both Dems & GOP participating. Investigations are not done in public.

Once investigation is complete, we'll hold open hearings. And Trump enablers will blanche at what comes out during the open hearings.

(boldface emphasis is mine - DMH)

IOW: What we saw, read and heard this week is only the beginning. Hold on to your seats and get more popcorn.

The hard core white supremacist and new Christians (who abhor women and LGTB) will continue to support him no matter what.

I don't know how much money they can back him with, though. Most of it will have to be Russian money.

It just seems interesting that established Republicans would continue to support in such an overly aggressive way. They will put themselves out of position to compete.

As Rick Wilson put it, McCONnell will have to be considering the "ultimate triage", jettisoning the president to save the Republicon majority.

Don't let them do it.
Keep the tRump and Republicon brands welded, screwed, and glued together.

The enablers and protectors are Trump-Republicans.

After they realize they'll have daily even more being exposed from trump's corruption, and it will destroy their chances getting elected, or re-elected again, and trump will be exposed so much he will be turned on by the people and the republicans. Every day they don't turn on trump, more republicans will be voted out of office, so let it go on like it is now. Polls show the American people are fed up and will vote them out. They just thought the Mid Term defeat was bad. These corrupt criminals soon will regret helping trump , and pay for all their criminal acts they were involved in.

White House lawyers are not allowed in the investigative hearings, and that is the reason Republicans have pulled their ridiculous stunts. WH lawyers will be able to question witnesses in the public hearings, and they will try to turn every fact into simple hearsay or opinion. Their purpose will be to make a mockery of the hearings that Trump’s propaganda machine can turn into an illegal impeachment attempt.

Trump supporters will not watch the hearings, but some independents might. I have faith in Chairman Schiff, but effectively countering Trump’s lying legal machine will be challenging.

(and I saw this interview with Jake Tapper) he reminds me of a grandmother whose dentures are out. And he also sounds dumb. Funny how he and Don Lemon are both from Louisiana, and yet Don doesn't sound dumb. Sorry, I guess part of it is the uneducated-sounding accent. Of course, that's just my NORTH American bias.....

impeachment by reining in Trump's worst instincts. Uhuh.

WaPo: John Kelly, former chief of staff to President Trump, said Saturday he warned the president before he left the White House not to replace him with a “yes man” because it would lead to Trump’s impeachment.

Kelly also said he believed he could have prevented the current impeachment inquiry against Trump if he had stayed in the job. He said the inquiry could have been avoided if the president had surrounded himself with people who could rein in his worst instincts. ...

“Someone has got to be a guide that tells [the president] that you either have the authority or you don’t, or Mr. President, don’t do it,” Kelly told the Washington Examiner’s Byron York. “Don’t hire someone that will just nod and say, ‘That’s a great idea, Mr. President.’ Because you will be impeached.”

The "current" impeachment, huh? Pelosi and co might still be looking for the best trigger to set off their avalanche maybe. But one might think from this that Trump wasn't committing huge crimes related to Russia-Ukraine before and during Kelly's time "in charge."

Gee, sure hope this growing and unstoppable avalanche of consequences doesn't sweep Kelly up with Trump. For sure what's coming out is going to bloody him good.

"All your roads lead to Russia."

Other responders have already expressed this opinion.

What Ted Lieu meant to say was, "Under ordinary circumstances, Trump enablers would blanch at what comes out during the open hearings."

That ain't gonna happen.
