Rebecca Traister @rtraister
Im of the opinion that masses of people booing the president on one of the stupidly few occasions hes ever been forced to interact with them is in fact an extremely valuable moment for our global standing & anyone who cares about Americas reputation should thank that crowd.

(37,364 posts)everywhere should have such moments and tape them. Put them on the fool's Twitter feed so he understands that millions of people feel the same way, not just isolated hecklers.

(19,204 posts)to what normal people think of the Liar-in Chief as well. It might open their eyes to the fact that they're not the majority of Americans, and that their love of Trump is not reflected in spontaneous gatherings of normal people.
Nah.....if it's one thing Trump and the MAGAts can do it's to create their own separate reality, where facts or truth are never allowed to permeate their fascist utopian bubble.

(1,530 posts)This wasnt one of Trumps Nuremberg rallies where his staff had chant leaders salted throughout the crowd.
This was a spontaneous expression by the people of their hatred and disdain for a faux leader.

(10,235 posts)Despite the vote rigging, the Dems won by a landslide. The booing of W at the Washington Nationals home game began in June 2008 and even lasted thru to their appearance at Obama's Inauguration. (Can you believe that some people felt sorry for these 2 torturers when they got booed?) Booing is the sound of the RepubliCON party losing it all.
This does not bode well for the GOP retaining their authoritarian control over our federal government.

(12,415 posts)But I havent heard ONE word about anyone feeling sorry for Rump. Folks generally get a bit squeamish when booing a person present, but no one was squeamish in that crowd! And I believe those results would repeat in many cities around the country. I think it bodes well for the next election.

Also, the press corps should shut down the helicopter interviews if they were real journalists instead of allowing this con man to use media tools to his advantage. They should simply use the helicopter as a backdrop and report on his missives and the fact that he will not engage in a proper presidential fashion.

(5,995 posts)Mulvany will cite the OMB study that compared 10 locations and Doral was far and away a better location to host the Federal Government with "beautiful venues" for all the important agencies where "real American" people live.

(2,600 posts)This guy has been carefully "minded" by his asylum orderlies to the effect that he goes around in a bubble. Everything is carefully stage managed to keep his fragile but monumental ego fluffed and unexposed to the growing number of real Americans who grew tired or him years ago and who are unafraid to give him their best Bronx cheers. It was also a good object lesson to his cadre of sycophants attending him, they of the retrumplican sit-in fools last week.

(22,201 posts)showed up and also more importantly, perhaps the struggling republicans in Congress who still support rump. By now, they can't put their heads in the sand, can't deny the hatred of most common day Americans for the ghoulish and hateful acts of this incompetent, so called president...

(34,534 posts)tickets are well-to-do and from the looks of it, the majority of the crowd was white. Whoopsie.

Well, having the expendable cash to buy World Series ticket is a solid dividing wall between the "real Americans" that my Uncles and Cousins believe they represent and the "Takers and leaches Democrats pander to".

(25,789 posts)Then Abby repeated it, "we're in the swamp, we want people to hate us" and Whoopi said, no, she was in D.C. that day and the crowd going to the game was extremely diverse. Sunny Hostin said no, the chants came not from the expensive seats but from the upper seats, the ones she sat in as a kid. Even Meghan said that Trump's "lock her up" made it fine to say "lock him up." She also said Trump was wrong to thank Russia first.

(2,412 posts)Great point, this was an elite crowd of mostly white people. I think it scared the Republicans with a dose of reality.
