What exactly are gop voters so terrified of?

I don't give a crap about the gop politicians, I know already what they're afraid of, but what the hell are the average republican voters so afraid of?

Fear is one of the biggest motivators for republican voters, but what is it that they're so petrified about?

I know they are quite hateful, and I suspect that that hatred comes from fear, but what exactly are they cowering in fear about?

The gop knows what scares you gop voters, and they'll use it against you.

The GOP is approximately 90% white and depends on the white vote in general and white male voters in particular to stay in power. As Lindsey Graham put it, the GOP is not generating sufficient angry white male voters to stay in control. The electorate is becoming too diverse which is why you are seeing things like voter id laws and other voter suppression tactics being used to lower the percentage of minorities voting which increases the power of the white male base of the GOP

White women just aren't reproducing as much these days.

(And, I don't mean that flippantly. I'm merely projecting their point of view)

They're desperately afraid of a world where they aren't in charge. If Obama gets re-elected, by 2016 the demographics in the country will have shifted to the point where a Latino could be elected President next. The idea of having to live in a world where the deck isn't stacked in their favor is horrifying to them.

And their paranoia is deepened at the thought of a Female, Lesbian, Latino Democratic president, but white supremacy will only get you so far. America is a melting pot, but the white beans don't want to blend their flavor to the other types of beans.

And if you think white supremacy is so twentieth century, please come to Milwaukee and explain that to the Sikhs who were shot to pieces in their temple. I'm sure they'd find that premise interesteing.

I've often wondered the same thing!! For work reasons I have to play nice nice with a rabid gop granny, with 3 granddaughters. The posts the most hateful things of face book, then turns around and posts about how good god is.... The disconnect makes my heart and my brain hurt.

At some point I will post the "Be not afraid" Bible verses, but she and some others I know think there will be riots when Obama is elected..., I mean re-elected.

I completely agree they are grasping at the last straws of domination.

Basically that's what it comes down to.

They want these wars to feel "protected", they want these tax laws to feel "protected".... they feel like they are beset on all sides by crazy religions and lazy brown people who want to take all their stuff away from them.

It's sad, tbh.

They seek simple answers to every problem. They also like to shirk responsibility of their actions and blame others for their own inadequacies. Thus they glam onto those who will say populist memes and word salad that affirms their frustration and ignorance. You get locked into that parallel universe and soon up is down and you're voting against your own interests.

The GOP has created a black and white world and you are either a winner or a loser. There is either reward or punishment, everything is at stake. Mind fuck at its best.
