As PBS Did With Nixon, Bill Moyers Calls for Primetime Airing of Trump Impeachment Hearings
by
Jake Johnson, staff writer
With the House set to hold its first public impeachment hearings next week as part of the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, renowned public broadcast journalist Bill Moyers took out a full-page ad in the Friday print edition of the New York Times calling on PBS to carry the hearings live on television and re-air them in primetime every night, just as it did during the Nixon impeachment proceedings.
"Plenty of Americans still rely on good old broadcast TV to get the word," the adwhich appears on page 5continues. "Hearken, PBS: Pull out the stops once again, and for the sake of the nation, throw away the schedule and air the Trump impeachment hearings in prime-time. Who wins? Democracyand viewers like you."

(28,347 posts)because a U.S. President sold out our country for personal gain.
The American public needs to hear and understand this. I want Americans to know, and to feel some of the anger and fear and heartbreak this man has caused so many of us.
He is endangering our National Security and in this instance, he endangered the lives in a nation who is an ally and a nation we swore to keep safe.
If this president were a Democrat I would feel the same. But Democrats don't elect traitorous Democrats. There's no such thing. We would NEVER become Soviet-enablers.

(4,981 posts)Regardless of whether you're a cable subscriber or not. It's bad enough that faux news frequently falls in cheaper cable packages than MSNBC, C-SPAN is cable-based and not gonna work for those watching TV over the air.

I'm seeing some reports from sources I don't know well enough to link here that CBS may broadcast the hearings live during the day with heavy coverage in primetime news. Decided to post my snark until I can confirm such.
