[div class="excerpt" style="font-family:Times,sans-serif; font-size:18px;"]This is the president who delivered the security of affordable health care to every single American after 90 years of trying.
This is the president who brought Osama bin Laden to justice.
This is the president who ended the war in Iraq and is ending the war in Afghanistan.
This is the president who ended "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" so that love of country, not love of another, determines fitness for military service.
This is the president who made equal pay for equal work the law of the land.
This is the president who saved the American auto industry from extinction, the American financial industry from self-destruction, and the American economy from depression.
This is the president who added over 4.5 million private sector jobs in the last two-plus years, more jobs than George W. Bush added in eight.
The list of accomplishments is long, impressive and barely toldeven more so when you consider that congressional Republicans have made obstruction itself the centerpiece of their governing strategy. With a record and a vision like that, I will not stand by and let him be bullied out of officeand neither should you, and neither should you and neither should you.

(2,331 posts)he also took Romney to the wood shed and shredded him comparing his record to the wanna be presidents record.. i lived in MA when R was gov. it was a joke.. all talk on bringing jobs no action. fail. only thing he ever did of value was health care and yet now he disavows ACA - even though it's almost the same as Rmoneycare.

(60 posts)Why doesn't the Obama Team find people like you who lived in MA when Romney was governor? We almost never hear anything about his record when he was governor. Was it really really bad?

(2,331 posts)state was hurting economically and the hope and promise was he'll bring jobs by influencing companies to move to the state w business connections and business friendly policies.. started a state agency to to that.. then it seemed to sit idle and do nothing... as was said..he seemed more interested in having the job than doing it! Then 4 years later nothing materialized except the false rhetoric that he had created jobs and done such a good job running the state.. (so well that he didn't run for a second term cuz he knew he'd lose badly).. all was a slick sales job...empty promises.

(12,471 posts)But Biden was more concise when he said: "Osama's dead, GM is alive, those are two good enough reasons to vote for Obama."

(9,895 posts)The one stat that really needs to be hammered home is the job creation numbers...
Came into office with an economy shedding jobs like a St. Bernard in the Florida Keys for July...losing some 500,000 EVERY MONTH in January of 2009.
Since then, the trend was reversed (SHOW THE "BIKINI" CHART OVER AND OVER AND OVER!!!) and the economy has gone on to create jobs for 29 straight months.
The net result is nearly 4X as many jobs created in 3.5 years as GWB created in 8 years.
Why are things still feeling bad? Because when you fall into a hole the size of the Grand Canyon after experiencing near zero job growth for a decade, it takes some time to turn the ship around fully. When the previous captain and crew turned off all the boilers, stopped the propellers and engaged the reverse drive full astern, you cannot just flip a switch and be running at top speed again.
This country does NOT need a new president...we need a new Congress, one filled with rational, sane people who will actually DO SOMETHING besides re-legislate social issues of the last century or try to drag us into their metaphorical Deloreon to head Back to the Future...
