Do you think pass holders should try to gather somewhere anyway or should we just put all Republicans on ignore?
As someone who stood in line 6 hours to get the passes (and I was there on a good day where the wait wasn't as bad) and someone who is in NC and has seen the storms come in every afternoon for the past 3 days (bad storm/tornado warning during James Taylor's performance on Labor Day, first day of events, etc) I laugh at the thought that Obama has to cancel because he couldn't give out enough passes to have the seats filled.
The weather is like Florida in the summer with the storms coming in right on cue around 3 or so, I would much rather the Obamas, the Bidens all of those guests and us to not be out in an open stadium when thunder and lightening is swirling all around us. I can sit in the rain till the end of the week if necessary, lightening; not so much.
But I am so disappointed. Wonder if Skinner can get me inside tomorrow?

(30,674 posts)you do the math. That's why they moved it to the stadium in the first place.

(3,674 posts)I thought it was a bad idea to begin with because weather is very unpredictable. Our local leather forecasters can hardly get it right one day ahead of time. How did the DNC expect to predict weather one month in advance.

(14,881 posts)until the GOP claimed it was due to inability to fill stadium.
As opposed to the fact that the stadium was overbooked, and there have been lightning storms every afternoon in Charlotte.

(1,828 posts)Lying is the only hope the GOP has. Rumor-mongering and outright lying. They're the "mean girls" of the political arena. I guess they're so predictable that they think the weather is, too.

(8,573 posts)I found out right before lunch that my ticket was cancelled. It's being moved to Time Warner Arena because of the weather. 40% chance of rain tomorrow, and I knew this was a possibility because of the weather, which has sucked all week. My ticket came from Senator Hagen's office through my boss, a big Dem supporter who is out of town this week.
I'm really disappointed too, but sometimes shit happens. I'll get a better view from the teevee, but it's not like experiencing it in person, dammit!

(5,342 posts)wondering if we should counter the Republicans and still find a way to show the number of people who would have been there. I think the best way to counter it is to spend the next two months getting out the vote. If everyone who was supposed to be there tomorrow gets 2 people to the polls...
