November 29, 1906: President of Southern Railroad killed in gruesome wreck

Hat tip, someone I know on a Yahoo! group for train enthusiasts in Virginia.

You can click on the link to read the story. It's the lead story in the last edition of that day's Washington Times. The 1906 Washington Times is not the same newspaper as the one published today.

The paper refers to the railroad as the "Southern Railroad." At least after the depression, it was the Southern Railway. I don't know if the paper is right.
