George Zimmerman is suing the parents of Trayvon Martin, attorney Benjamin Crump and others for $100 million.
In the lawsuit, which was filed in Polk County, Florida, Zimmerman claims evidence presented in his 2012 homicide trial for the fatal shooting of Martin was false.
Zimmerman is represented by Larry Klayman, an American right-wing activist lawyer and former U.S. Justice Department prosecutor.
The lawsuit cites a documentary about the case that accuses Martins family of falsifying testimony. A press conference detailing the lawsuit, along with a showing of the documentary, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday.
The press conference was announced by the films director, Joel Gilbert.
Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer, was acquitted in the shooting of Trayvon Martin on the grounds of self-defense. The case sparked protests and a national debate about race relations. The Justice Department later decided not to prosecute Zimmerman on civil rights charges.
The lawsuit alleges that the prosecution's key witness in Zimmermans 2013 murder trial, Rachel Jeantel, was an imposter and fake witness.

Zimmerman is a human cockroach who just never goes away. All he does is sneak out of his crack in the floor to walk all over someones food, contaminating it.

George Zimmerman has $2.5 million in debt and no income, according to paperwork in his misdemeanor stalking case.
The details of Zimmermans finances were filed in Seminole County court in support of a request for Zimmerman to be represented by the Public Defenders Office, which has since been granted.
Zimmerman is now being represented by Public Defender Blaise Trettis, records show, whose office filed a not-guilty plea and a request for a jury trial on his behalf, both typical steps in criminal cases.
Zimmerman was slated to appear in court for an arraignment May 30, but his defense waived that proceeding, records show.
Zimmerman is accused of sending threatening messages to private investigator Dennis Warren, who had contacted him about a documentary series on Trayvon Martin being produced by the rapper Jay Z.
Zimmerman shot and killed the 17-year-old in Sanford on Feb. 26, 2012, but argued he did so in self-defense and was acquitted on a murder charge at trial. The case attracted international attention.
Earlier this month, a judge denied Warrens request for a restraining order against Zimmerman.

(31,261 posts)be prepared to shoot first. He is a murderius psycho on a rampage. He has been in Court almost every year since his acquittal defending himself against some type of assault incident. There was also an incident where a guy shot at him first (the guy was convicted eventhough Zimmerman was armed and the other guy feared for his life). The other guy was White.
I wonder if any of the people that acquitted him realize what a miscarriage of justice they were a part of? The guy has been nothing but trouble.
