LOVE Rachel,

Turley (counsel for the defense) v Schiff (counsel for the government/House!)

On December 7, 2010, the full Senate began hearing the impeachment trial. ... The following day, the Senate voted unanimously to convict Porteous on the first of four impeachment charges, removing him from the bench, before subsequently convicting him on the remaining three articles.

December 8, 2010 on Conviction of Judge G Thomas Porteous Jr. of Fed Dist Court in Lousisiana

WASHINGTON — The Senate on Wednesday found Judge G. Thomas Porteous Jr. of Federal District Court in Louisiana guilty on four articles of impeachment and removed him from the bench, the first time the Senate has ousted a federal judge in more than two decades.

Judge Porteous, the eighth federal judge to be removed from office in this manner, was impeached by the House in March on four articles stemming from charges that he received cash and favors from lawyers who had dealings in his court, used a false name to elude creditors and intentionally misled the Senate during his confirmation proceedings. The behavior amounted to a “pattern of conduct incompatible with the trust and confidence placed in him,” according to the articles against him.

Am tired from the hearings... must eat dinner sooon:

Thank you to Rachel

Helped clear up this pesky issue I kept running into whilst watching turley today. His head turns, nods, tilts, brow raises, etc. reminded me of bill barr. In watching the video clips on Maddow’s show tonight, I saw that his style may not be a tell of studying or working with barr, but rather a collection of affects that defense attorneys, maybe some attorneys in general, are practiced in for an air of authority.

The sharing of talking points between republican members and turley still annoys me to the point of utter betrayal compared to his analysis pieces on television. I’ve been irritated with him off and on over the years, but I barely recognized his manner today compared to his tv news speaking manner. During the hearing, I was continually disappointed with him - felt he was being artificial.

Despite all of that, I would not be shocked if he’s been in regular contact with barr.
