Boy invites entire kindergarten class to his adoption hearing -- and it's adorable

New York Daily News

This boy’s definition of family will warm your heart.

A Michigan kindergartner brought his entire class to witness his adoption hearing Thursday in an adorable courtroom scene marking Kent

The county’s official Facebook page posted a photo of the young boy, Michael Clark Jr., sitting next to his foster parents as his classmates watched in the back with paper hearts in their hands.

Michael — who was formally adopted by foster parents Andrea Melvin and Dave Eaton — was one of 37 children being adopted Thursday in Grand Rapids.

“There is not a dry eye on Judge Patricia Gardner’s courtroom,” Kent County officials wrote in a separate Facebook post.

It was pretty damn cute! Michael couldn't stop telling everyone how much he loves his dad. His classmates were all waving their hearts. I wish the news was dominated by stories like this, instead of the awfulness we're seeing now.

It reminds me of taking my 1st Graders on a bus field trip and you couldn't see any kids' heads from the back of the bus. They look well behaved and respectful. Their adults chaperones did a good job (not easy).

Michael wanted his friends to be with him on his big day and his friends wanted to be there for him.

By the way, good for the judge in going along.
