(31,131 posts)"where I was" between John Lennon and John Belushi.
But I know where I was for John Lennon and what I did that night.
The Beatles were or are a part of who I am, I cant explain it. I am a musician, sort of, and, well I cant explain it.

(2,227 posts)This is the one musical group, that literally changed the world.
They were lucky enough to be the right group, with the right music, with the right social consciousness, to affect the largest generation (and then some...).
I feel so lucky to have been a part of it.
to all who were a part of it.

(67,782 posts)....that weekend for the 10-minutes of silence. It was eerie, all those people so quiet - all that could be heard was an occasional bark from a dog or baby crying, and the overhead helicopters. There was a single chair on the stage, a portrait of John Lennon, and a boom box. After the 10 minutes, the boom box played "Imagine".

(63,931 posts)that night well, I was shocked and so sad that someone took this wonderful artist's life and he was part of the greatest group The Beatles. Who would want to kill a Beatle???? I was listening to his music all night.

(66,478 posts)I barely knew who John Lennon was when I heard he had been killed. I knew who The Beatles were, I just didn't know their names. (I was eleven when Lennon was murdered...) But I found out fast after it happened.
I also remember where I was when I heard Rebecca Shaeffer had been murdered. I was nineteen then, and absolutely in love with her. I was content with the reality that she was a television actress and I was a nobody. That was no big deal. Her murderer, though, thought 'If I can't have her...' God damn him...
