In a trial advocacy course I took in law school we were taught never to yell or rant, but to speak only as loudly as necessary to make yourself heard clearly. Being calm and rational wins a whole lot more points with juries than yelling and calling names. Some of those d-bags are lawyers and certainly know these things, but I suspect they are performing for an audience of one - someone who likes his minions to be hyper-aggressive assholes and tweets mean things about them if they're polite and calm, which to him is a sign of weakness.
