He'd rubberstamp all republican legislation, put more unqualified and Federalist judges on the Bench, etc. He might even make some friends internationally.
HOWEVER, Mike Pence would not excite the base. Even though he would be the real deal Evangelist-in-Chief, nobody would turn out for rallies (if they continued). Less voter turn-out, etc.
It's all about the base.

Even if he's impeached in the House, he's not barred from running or serving again. Only the Senate can ban him after a vote to convict and remove.
