Scuffles break out as Adam Schiff speaks at Armenian town hall

At a town hall event on Saturday where an Armenian organization was thanking U.S. government officials for their support of resolutions recognizing the Armenian Genocide, scuffles broke out as Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Burbank), a co-sponsor of a resolution on the issue, spoke in the auditorium at the Glendale Central Library.

As Schiff began speaking, an elderly man and woman and a younger woman held up signs stating “Don’t Impeach.” When they were asked to take down the signs, they refused.

Then, about a dozen people scattered throughout the auditorium began yelling “Liar.”

When some in the audience asked them to refrain from yelling, several scuffles broke out throughout the room, and the audience members who were yelling at Schiff removed their jackets. They were wearing pro-President Trump T-shirts.

After roughly 15 minutes, the scuffles settled down, and the event continued.

I thought. When do gop reps. have town halls, or meetings in their districts? Are they afraid to show up?? The jury has been polled, and the verdict announced, even BEFORE the evidence is heard. Moscow Mitch and Graham should be recused from voting.

they sent paid activists to opponents' rallies to disrupt them.

Authoritarians all use the same playbook.

Their ultimate goal is the transformation of the presidency into a virtual dictatorship and the end of democracy. The major media is failing the people to clearly and loudly warn the citizens. Even if Trump is defeated they will not be deterred just as what has transpired following the presidencies of Nixon, Regan, the Bush boys and now Trump. Each presidency has moved them closer to there goal.

Even when they don't control the White House they have launched a campaigns to stifle the any legislation by a democratic president. This is just as effective in their under mining the confidence in the government as their antiregulation legislation. What they are unable to do accomplish that they threaten to suit down the government. There are major flaws in the constitution that allow a minority that has no interest in providing effective legislation regardless of its need and merit to totally hamstring government and thereby destroy the people's confidence. A favorite charge and tactic that Reagan initiated.

The Nazis in the 20's, as they were just getting started, used all the parliamentary tricks to freeze the Reichstag from getting anything done, leading the presidents and chancellors to use their equivalent of executive action to get anything done. And, of course, they complained loudly about how the government that they were stonewalling wasn't working and the presidents were acting like dictators.

Repubs have been doing this since Reagan, like you point out.
