It is strictly for the consumption of Republican voters who are ignorant enough to believe it, and they are one hell of a big voting bloc. Trump as a victim is such an unlikely scenario that it has to be drummed into them constantly for them to believe it.

3. Honor the 2018 election

The 2018 election took the House for a reason. The system of checks and balances is the reason. The 2018 election was recognition that he was worse than most ppl hoped for. He never pivoted to presidential and pursued criminal, unethical, immoral, unamerican policy and practice.
Impeachment isn't reversing the 2016 election.
Impeachment is an appropriate check and balance brought to us by the will of 2018 voters.

Just remind them, they felt Clinton betrayed his oath of office and flaunted the law after being duly elected. If the meme "he was elected so whatever he does is OK" then there would be no provision in the US Constitution for removal between elections.
