https://www.democraticunderground.com/100212626497so, this guy is notoriously tight lipped, but had a visit w my brother last weekend. my bro is one person he talks too, and he was busting to talk. i didnt get the whole convo, but what i got was this-
his job was in jsoc policy.
he says he was pushed out in a struggle over personnel being foisted on them by the wh. specifically, a guy named john rood, who is a policy liaison, but is making personnel picks.
they tangled over a particular pick that is still there, dont know who.
rood was stupid enough to question the "loyalty" of a certified war hero.
ans- you dont get to question my loyalty. fuck you. i quit.
he is a lifelong repub, but he has decided that cheato is a bad president, a bad man, and a clear and present danger.
he is not alone.
stout hearts, friends.
ets- shit, i forgot the juiciest part- he says rood is involved in ukraine.

(9,426 posts)tRump has plenty of (unqualified) help behind the scenes. He does not have enough intelligence to watch all these positions, so there are many, many helpers involved. Putin has to be thrilled at how his plan to install an IDIOT in the WH is destroying every facet of this country.

Because the JSOC would not trust the orange, draft-dodging traitor over the killing of Al-Baghdadi...?

(15,241 posts)Every department and agency will soon have a political appointee in place to oversee all activities.
And we all know how well that worked during the Soviet period. That's why the USSR failed.
And if trumputin foists this on us, we will also fail.

(70,099 posts)i'm pretty sure he sees what is happening in state, and in intelligence, where he has deep contacts.

(1,639 posts)The litmus test for people serving in our government and military should be loyalty to the Constitution and its established values and a genuine concern for the welfare of the American people. After that, the second most important quality should be--duh--competency.
Trump values loyalty to himself above all else. Thus he thinks that those "smart" enough to be loyal to him are the "best people" and can handle critical, challenging jobs. A lack of training, experience and capability is not significant to him, as long as they can pucker up and kiss his ass, the position is theirs.

Many Commanders have a four (4) year term so perhaps this is just a huge coincidence.
With great sadness, we have to acknowledge a window of doubt about loyalties created by reports of Trumps demands for loyalty.
You can read about each new Head and their start dates at the links beneath each stated branch.

Lockheed Martin gets $3.3B contract for communications satellite work

Ed Adamczyk
https://www.upi.com/Defense-News/2019/11/18/Lockheed-Martin-gets-33B-contract-for-communications-satellite-work/9421574094177/
The Defense Department announced the 10-year contract on Friday. It calls for maintenance of the Advanced Extremely High Frequency program, used by the U.S. Air Force and allies British Armed Forces, Canadian Armed Forces and Royal Netherlands Armed Forces, as well as two older systems, Milstar and the Defense Satellite Communications System, used by the United States alone.
Each is a constellation of satellites in a fixed orbit. The AEHF program is composed of six satellites. The first was sent into orbit in 2010, and the last is scheduled to be launched in 2020.
The Milstar and DSCS satellites were launched between 1994 and 2003. Although older, many of the satellites remain operational.
The programs are designed to keep the White House and other government agencies functioning, even in the event of a nuclear attack, and maintain government functions regardless of conditions on the ground.
Lockheed Martin has been the U.S. government's preferred contractor on the programs since 2009, and the contract announced on Friday was a sole source acquisition award.

not sure whether this has any connection to any of this, but the $$$$ amounts are staggering and it would seem rather UNcoincidental to have this type of occurrence with personnel referred to in OP

Quitting on principle unfortunately merely lets them hire a loyalist.

(7,217 posts)This happens all the time in Republican administrations.
My first thought reading this? Douglas Feith, undersecretary of defense for fiascos, about whom General Tommy Franks once called the fucking stupidest guy on the face of the earth, apparently for ideas he proposed to Franks and his planners. Quite a few from his staff quit, got re-assigned, or neutered in position by Feith and his pals on the Reich if they called out the stupid.
A British news magazine back in the day, writing on Feith, Libby, Wolfowitz and, of course, Richard Perle:
"But their headquarters is now the civilian defence secretarys office, where these Republican political appointees are despised and distrusted by the largely Republican career soldiers."
That was true of Feith, Libby, Wolfowitz and Perle.
I once worked for with guy, a former West Pointer/Vietnam officer, who was a Reagan appointee to a high level slot the Army. Really liked him. Rarely did he lose his cool. First time I saw him go ballistic? Oliver North. Esp. When North showed up in full Marine uniform to be grilled by Congress.
Said he had been to some event that day that included some former and current high-ranking Marines - and they were freak-out LIVID!
