https://www.rawstory.com/2019/12/video-proves-mcdonalds-employee-didnt-slur-cop-on-coffee-cup-owner/The owner of a Kansas fast-food restaurant says video evidence proves a police officer wrongly accused an employee of writing a slur on his receipt.
Herington police chief Brian Hornaday shared a photo of the obscene message on Facebook, and complained the McDonalds response was insufficient for the insult, reported KSNT-TV.
This is what he paid for, Hornaday wrote. Although I understand this is likely the act of one person and not a representation of the company, when it was brought to their attention the company offered him a free lunch. No thank you. A Big Mac and large fries doesnt make up for it. The US Veteran who continues to serve deserves much more. This is not only bad for McDonalds, but is also a black eye for Junction City.
The photo showed someone had written f*cking pig across a receipt stuck to the officers cup of coffee and Hornaday later reviewed video evidence from surveillance cameras but said officers could not find any evidence.
But the franchise owner said video evidence proves the message was not written by an employee, and promised to show that evidence to Hornaday on Monday.
My McDonalds have the utmost respect for all members of law enforcement and the military and were troubled by the accusation made, said owner Dana Cook. We thoroughly reviewed our security video from every angle, which clearly shows the words were not written by one of our employees. We look forward to working with Chief Hornaday as he continues his investigation.

Stupid cops who can't connect the dots?
It's a wonder crime rates are so low...

(14,857 posts)Letting him resign instead of firing his ass, not releasing his name. I bet if this hadn't made national news, he'd still be in his position.

(22,345 posts)My reaction based on the initial incident was just my reaction based on what I believe, and thats a police officer who is sworn to protect, their integrity is of the highest order, and it would be foolish of any law enforcement agency or professional to not take the word of their police officer until they can be proven otherwise, Hornaday said.
Hornaday declined to release the officer's name. He said he'd been with the department for two months, and previously spent five years as a military police officer in the Army.
Gosh, if the cop is willing to lie about that, what else has he lied about?

Chief Hornaday is a fool. He still really believes that cops are better and more honest than everyone else.

(26,076 posts)Their low-wage, non-unionized worker with zero protection. The public -- including many DUers -- lap up these stories about these poor widdle cops treated so badly. THERE IS NEVER EVIDENCE!
