I was thinking about Luntz last night

His team got owned.

Whoever was in charge of messaging for the DNC convention was brilliant. The message was simple, and repeated often, with conviction and empathy, from all walks of life. Each speech was delivered with passion and sincerity. It was raw and unvarnished when emotions took their turn, and sophisticated and detailed when reason took its turn. The schedule of speakers was perfect -- couldn't have been better. It was like the "fantasy football" schedule of speakers. Now, this is how you do a convention.

The GOP had to be stunned by the superior execution.

I would love to know who orchestrated the show, and who ultimately coordinated the messaging. They or he/she deserve recognition.

Ever since they tossed him out on his ass, and even before, he has been worth listening to. I have no idea what perverted his political thinking but when it comes to message delivery and understanding the connection between word and mind I put him right up there with Chomsky in terms of insight, if not, though not, scholarly application. I honestly wish he was on our side, we could use him. I also have to say this in his defense, the man is often, very often, quite candid in his charactiture of some Democrats and it can be refreshing.

I hear righties all the time say the Obama Administration focus groups everything they do and say. But focus groups is what their guru, Frank Luntz, does for a living.

7. We are getting our act together on many fronts such as this one. We finally are starting to answer

that things ARE better. We are fighting back on false ads quickly.

As an armchair political nut..Three things I would have liked to have seen:

1) When Clinton did his scorecard bits....which when he described Obama's student loan program he would have said, "Obama - Helping students" "Romney ask your parents for the money"

2) One of the highlight speaker run a clip that MSNBC did last night. It was a sad a pitiful clip of George Bush telling the american people what a sad state the economy was in

3) They had started small with the acceptance speech venue and only gone big if they knew there would be 74k. I just dread the meme that will be repeated tonight about "couldn't fill the stadium". Or, hope it rains like hell there tonight

8. Agree. DNC dug deep into its core, and embraced what it found there...

We have a lot of "fight" left. And we're finally tapping into it.

Ed Rendell said the other day that when he was the head of the DNC, the Kerry team basically took over the entire convention operation.

I assume the same thing is true in 2012.
