Okay, so I don't follow the sport at all, but I'm totally befuddled by the fact that if I go into restaurants with TVs, I seem to be able to watch live football every single night of the week right now.

Yeah, it's been more than a decade, but didn't God create Fridays for high school football, Saturdays for college and Sunday for the pros (with a chaser of MNF)?

I don't mind the Thursday/Friday creep for college football, since there are so many games to be played, but the NFL belongs on Sunday (with the Monday chaser and the Thanksgiving exception).

Some 21 million Americans watched the National Football League's season kickoff game on NBC between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants on Wednesday night, dwarfing the 7.5 million who watched Clinton's lengthy, humorous and detail-heavy address on the ABC and CBS networks, according to Nielsen data.

So confirms The Wrap (http://www.thewrap.com/tv/column-post/ratings-nfl-wins-nbc-dem-convention-slightly-down-rnc-54961).

Another thread shows that when you count the cable channels (CNN, FNC, MSNBC) there were half a million more viewers of Clinton's speech than the football game (http://www.democraticunderground.com/1014220858).

The Wrap also reports that the ratings for this week's DNC slightly exceeded the RNC coverage 7 days ago.
