IMO: The Tide is Turning. Trump is going to be removed from Office.

Thank you, Nancy Pelosi for your impecable timing. What has come out recently is making a mark, a big mark. It's ugly and it's shocking. There is outrage mounting. The acts and statements against Amb. Marie Yovanovitch simply cannot be ignored or said to be false, fake news, or the Dems plotting against Trump. This is sick, serious and felonious conduct. It is beyond acceptable and IMO, Nancy knew and waited until the absolute moment to slam it home. He's going to be removed and when this takes place, we have Nancy and the House Dems to thank.

I feel it in my elderly bones -- and hopefully I am correct -- he's going to be removed. There is simply too much dirt to sweep under the rugs in the Senate chamber. It's like way back in 1974 I felt the tide turn against Nixon when those tapes came out. IMO, the Lev Parnas docs are of the same ilk. This tide is going to sweep Trump out of the WH.

But if our congress reps are able to nail down this story and its wretched details? Explosive. Disgusting enough that minds and hearts could finally turn against Trump and his criminality.

If they were plotting to murder a US Ambassador, the Trumpers would have no compunction with ordering a hit on Parnas. Going public is his best protection because if anything happens to him now, we all know who was behind it. And delivering the goods pre-recorded ensures that the studio or Rachel Maddow don't also get preemptively stopped.

Trump and company will murder if they think it will benefit them or cover their tracks. Doing the interview taped circumvents any desperate counter move they could have dreamed up.

Quickly shove Pence in as president, shove in their V.P. And tell their voters: everything is good, we saw the problem, took care of the problem, everything is good, vote for Pence in 2020 and 2024.
Keep the republicans in the Senate, return the republican control to the house and all republicans in governors and all other public offices.
Maybe that time has come.????
OF course Pence will have a flood of pardons for all.......

IMO, the Rs cannot get in line behind what clearly appears to be the stalking of the ambassador and most likely a plot to harm her. There are reasons she was told to leave and leave now. Ugly so very ugly -- more like the plot of a movie than reality. The public cannot and will not allow this to be the level of conduct by our elected officials and the executive staff members.

Yep, excellent point. Some might not have followed the hearing closely, but this will be hard to ignore ... lots of publicity. It will be filled with lots of intrigue and will be an attention getter. Those republican officials that cling to Trump, well might find themselves in trouble when new elections come up. And, exactly as you say (I hope). "The public cannot and will not allow this to be the level of conduct by our elected officials and the executive staff members." I think Trump has really dug himself a hole, and the amazing part is he continues to dig deeper.

From the movie, based on real life, with Richard Gere and British actor Al Molina (who lost all his British accent for the role). "The Hoax". I haven't watched it in awhile, but if I remember correctly Nixon's brother had a $600,000 loan from Howard Hughes which Nixon obviously wanted to keep quiet. The movie is about the supposedly authorized biography of Howard Hughes, which turned out to be a hoax and almost toppled McGraw-Hill Publishing Company. The CEO, Harold McGraw himself, signed the checks to the author, Clifford Irving.

"A fleeting scene set inside the Nixon White House suggests that Nixon's preoccupation with Hughes led directly to the burglary and wiretapping of Democratic Headquarters at the Watergate Hotel. Historians and political analysts dispute this.[2]"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hoax

I'm no Richard Gere fan but he was excellent in this film, and the screenplay, mood, cinematography and music captured that 1970s milieu of New York and Madison Avenue and corporate headquarters.

I really wish it could be true, that Republicans would FINALLY see the light and act for the good of the country— not merely themselves— and turn Trump over to face serious judgement for his shocking and continuing malfeasance.

But the GOP has changed since the days of Richard Nixon. They are no longer conservatives, they are radical (white) nationalists. They’ve found, through the example set by their “chosen one,” that living above the law has its advantages. They now fervently endorse autocratic rule, and enjoy marginalizing and excluding “the other,” a broad category that includes Democrats and progressives. In short, they are ALL Donald Trump, and they like it that way.

The tide of opinion may be turning, but the only sure way to be rid of Trump is for most of the 12 swing states to vote Democratic. Much of the electoral map is fixed, in terms of “blue” and “red,” so once again, the swing states will be the coveted prizes.

Assuming that there’s a free-and-fair election in 2020 (Republicans have even cast a shadow over that once-sacrosanct process), Trump will rise or fall depending on the votes in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Those 12 states are where fascism and democracy will finally tangle. There must be a veritable flood of Democratic voters in each of those states, so that their numbers will wash over any Russian meddling and voter suppression.

It will be ugly, but victory is still possible.

The aggregate feeling I have is the same as you about "the Tide" turning. But I believe that it's because the information I get from news sources suggests as much. But there are millions of people who don't use my sources, who, indeed, know nothing about, for instance, the Parnas disclosures, or much of the testimony that led the House to vote for the Articles. But it is gratifying to have the feeling that the Tide is turning, even if I know that it's only one of perhaps many possible trends.

91. We have to get some corroboration on this stuff, do an investigation. There's no time!

92. I've been thinking he'll be impeached for a while

Here's why.

There's something about a court hearing that's very serious. I don't even think McConnell actually realizes this. When facts and evidence come out in a planned proceeding, they're there looking at everyone in the face. They are on the record. You can say you're not going to impeach, but once you get in that proceeding, it's a different story altogether. The facts and the fact-finding process take on a life of their own.

In this case, even while it is not like an actual court proceeding, there are still some very sobering considerations. One is that this is history. This the record for the ages. Yes, some of these senators really are so wound up in this thing that they can deny reality. However, if the news continues in the way it did today, can they really

Look, however, at tonight's news, even the interview with Parnas. If only 20 per cent of it is true, it is still going to require investigations. So here's what it boils down to: they can dump trump now or they can dump him later. Trouble is brewing and the longer he stays in office, the worse it's going to get.
