Partisan passions are such that it is human nature that some... let's say enthusiastic people will assume that anyone who ever died within 1000 yards of a political opponent must have been murdered.
Look, these Republicans are bad, bad people. But even bad people do sometimes have car crashes, or die in plane crashes, or have a baby with Down's syndrome in the normal course of life. Sometimes a teenager gets a little wild while driving around rural Texas and runs a stop sign and kills someone. Sometimes an employee has a seizure and hits her head on a desk.
And good people have problems too. sometimes a very good friend commits suicide with a rusty old gun in a local park. And sometimes you drive off a bridge and a girl drowns and you can't save her even though you're a good swimmer, because you're underwater in the dark and just had a car crash. And sometimes your father who you've only met once was a Kenyan communist.
Not everything is a hot tabloid story. Not every worst and most fanciful assumption is true, even about really awful people.
Here's a really shocking story.
Corporate profits are the highest they have ever been, during the worst economic downturn since the great depression.
See, now that is a story. It's as amazing and horrible as any story. It strains credulity as much as Bigfoot. And it happened in broad daylight.

Our (not 'our' but more 'their') values have drifted off course. When we idolize the same people that have crushed us and demonize those that wish to empower us, something is wrong. Something needs to change.
