Why is Bolton doing this when his book....
1. Makes things very difficult for the President.
2. Essentially fucks over the GOP Senate.
3. Doesn't help any GOP House Representatives.
4. Burns bridges with a lot of current Republican office holders and GOP donors.
Why? Because....
A sense of duty of country over party? No.
Doesn't like where the direction of the GOP is moving? Partially...but knows he's not the one to fix it.
Make a lot of money on his book? Sure....but why now? Why at this time? Which leads me to...
His career as a public servant is OVER!
His tenure with Trump was the last hurrah of hawkish foreign policy because, IMPOTUS is in it for himself only. He doesn't seen him getting re-elected nor does he see another GOP President in the near future and thus, the day he quit was the last day he every see's the inside of the White House and he knew it.
He doesn't have to play nice with Congress as he doesn't expect the GOP regain the House and Moscow Mitch is only interested in appointing judges to ensure a conservative slant in the courts for a generation....and nothing else.
Since the Senate is sitting on its hands and no one is stepping up to stop the freak in the Oval Office or for that matter, rescue the GOP.....
He said, "fuck it....might as well make some money off this, my time here is over".
