I'm ready to toss Hunter Biden to the wolves if we need to

First off, he doesn't know anything about Trump's behavior. His testimony will be a whole lot of "I don't know" and "I have no idea".

Yes, they will try to dirty him up by asking non-relevant questions like how he got the job and such. But that stuff is already going to be in the campaign against Joe.

And remember... House Managers would get to cross-examine, and in doing so, they would expose how ridiculous it is to even be questioning him.

So if getting John Bolton in the well of the senate means we have to accept Hunter Biden being there for a meaningless question/answer session.... so be it.

Joe's campaign can handle it. And if Joe willingly testifies too, in exchange for a Mulvaney or Pompeo, we win that trade-off too.

And Joe's numbers would probably go *UP*, because I can see him handling it like Hillary did when she sat there for 11 hours.

Biden would get a big boost in the polls by coming out and saying "Sure! I'll testify. I have nothing to add concerning what Trump did... but I'm armed with the truth... so come at me, bro."

Disagree that there should be an "exchange" or tit for tat. All witnesses that are desired (minus the whistleblower for security reasons) should appear. Put the Biden's on, put Schiff on, put Mulvaney, Barr, and Bolton on; all on their own merits.

I know that the Biden's and Schiff will be fine. Barr and Trump's other cronies will lie or take the 5th.

No deals though. Just a straight fair trial.

Republicans should not be afforded a chance to personally attack and slander him and, more importantly, he is not tied to this in any way, shape, or form. If Trump had legitimate concerns (ha!) and felt that an investigation was warranted, he should have gone through the appropriate channels to launch an investigation, not do what he did. The second they haul Biden into this, they will find a way to use him to excuse/justify Trump's behavior.

When they fabricated the entire thing to begin with?

It was never a matter of actually using facts or really pursuing Hunter Biden for corruption. No lawyers were lined up to prosecute him because the ONLY point was to smear Joe Biden with lies just like they went after Hillary for things she never did.

That was the end game, not justice or accusations based on actual events. It was to flood the media with lies. To poison the well. To force the Bidens to deal with a mess created by innuendo and slander and lies. To tie them up trying to get out of the cacophony of baseless accusations.

Personally, Joe ought to be happy to take the stand and defend the Obama/Biden Record. I think his campaign would explode in popularity if he takes this fight head-on. When the Coward-in-Chief is called, he can hide behind some arcane privilage....but it won't make his case better and will show his true character.

Want to put Russian propaganda, backed by faked documents planted in Burisma to make it like Hunters' dad pressured them into hiring his son? That could easily happen and our strongest candidate be seriously crippled by Russian lies which drumpf is just salivating to spread - along with lies about 2016 to be used to clear Russian sanctions.

Yes, if only the truth was going to be in evidence, bring him on - but that is not the case, the evidence could easily be terrible and a lie if we allow this. Dems won't have time to rebut the source and Russia/drumpf win again. This is a really bad idea.

Until I learned of the hacking, I felt similar to you, but now - nope.

Repubs don't want Hunter Biden to be subpoened as that wouldn't give Trump his quick acquittal and victory lap. Repubs are only floating a bogus trade off issue to claim it's the Dems who don't want witnesses.

Also no guarantee that WH wouldn't block Bolton and take it to court while Hunter got stuck testifying with no immunity exclusion and Repubs have a field day smearing Bidens and making it all about them.

When republicans are in charge, there is no such thing as truth or fairness. republicans are being paid big money for their part in this charade, they are going to follow the script, including romney and his weasel wording on witnesses. It's all part of the script!

...to lighten the load and keep the wolves busy. Eh, she's had a full life, amirite? She'd want to make a meaningful sacrifice, you're sure.

But the wolves, being a pack, dispose of her speedily and, feeling refreshed, pursue your sleigh with renewed vigor. Your horses are in a lather.

Your sleigh is full of passengers: who next? How about a small child -- after all, its mother can have another kid someday, if she can survive this harrowing journey.

And after that snack?

THAT is the meaning of "tossing someone to the wolves." The wolfpack will never be satisfied. The goal is to kill and eat everybody in the sleigh, no survivors.

So, to put it bluntly, to hell with that idea. We already know who we are dealing with.

Republicans want Hunter Biden to merely appear so they can selectively cut/edit/distort/re-contextualize his testimony. They will project their own crooked, lawbreaking behaviors onto the Bidens. Then the RW echo machine will run with the lies. (They’ll do it anyway, but they WON’T be able to run an endless video-loop background of Hunter Biden testifying while Hannity pumps up the “outrage.”)

Please do not feed the Republicans.
