As a special guest of the breakfast for the Massachusetts delegation at the Democratic National Convention, former Vermont Governor and presidential candidate Howard Dean rallied the crowd as he pushed the group to hit the streets to push for the election of Elizabeth Warren in the Bay State's Senate race.
Dean, whose energetic words peaked the levels on the sound system throughout his nearly eight-minute address, told Democrats that if they take President Barack Obama winning in Massachusetts for granted, it could mean a loss for Warren against Republican U.S. Sen. Scott Brown.
"I know that Massachusetts is going to vote to re-elect Barack Obama, but that is not enough," Dean said. "You've got to run it up the store big time and the reason you do is because we need Elizabeth Warren in the Senate. It is not enough for Barack Obama to win by ten points. You are not doing your job if that happens. That is a plain fact. We need him to win by 20 points in Massachusetts because we are in a tight race."
