OUCH! Denver Post roasts Corey Gardner in scathing editorial

Editorial: Cory Gardner must think what Trump did was fine. But it’s hard to tell.

By The Denver Post Editorial Board |
PUBLISHED: February 6, 2020 at 1:32 pm | UPDATED: February 6, 2020 at 3:02 pm

U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner either thinks it’s OK for a president to pressure a foreign government to investigate a U.S. citizen for personal and political gain or he’s too afraid to criticize this president for doing just that.

We’re not sure which is worse.

Gardner failed to address the issue on the floor of Congress while he was explaining to the public his decision to acquit the president on that very question. In subsequent media interviews where he was asked the question directly, he did the trademark Gardner dodge and weave.

“That wasn’t the question we had last night or that we had in the impeachment,” Gardner said on Fox31. “The question we had was whether or not the president has the ability to investigate how taxpayer dollars are being spent. That’s the question, and I think that’s what we have to be concerned about.”

Nonsense.

Coloradans deserve a senator who will be straightforward and honest with them. Coloradans deserve a senator with a track record of bipartisanship. Coloradans deserve a senator who will call out things that are wrong and work to correct them. Coloradans deserve better than Cory Gardner.

If the Prez wanted to legitimately investigate how tax $$$ are spent, he would use the FBI and the CIA. Not Lev Parnas and Giuliani.

Just more Republican gaslighting.

FCC repeals decades-old rules on media monopolies
November 16, 2017
By Brian Fung | Washington Post

Federal regulators rolled back a series of decades-old regulations on Thursday, in a move that will make it far easier for media outlets to be bought and sold – potentially leading to more newspapers, radio stations and television broadcasters being owned by a small handful of companies.

[ ... ]

A major beneficiary of the deregulatory moves, analysts say, is Sinclair, the conservative broadcasting company seeking to buy up Tribune Media for $3.9 billion.

[ ... ]

Sinclair is another MAGAtphone, in print and broadcast.

These are strategic moves by GOP to perpetuate their reign.

Hillary Clinton "beat" Donald Trump by 500 to 8 in newspaper/magazine endorsements in the run up to the 2016 election (with an additional 48 "Not Trump" endorsements).

What is your point? Are you saying Trump and his supporters such as the senator will not be affected by any negative editorials? Are you implying that we should not give any credence to such editorials because Hillary had an overwhelming number of positive endorsements?

Just curious as to your state of mind in posting such a post on the Democratic Underground.

to have a rally for Cory Gardner.......There are about 4? states whose senator may get hung out to dry and I can imagine Trump will be in those states countless times before November..............

For the next ten months, the U.S. taxpayers are going to foot the bill for Trump to hop-scotch his way across the U.S. only concerned with doing rallies for Republican Candidates.........He is Adderall fueled and ready to go..........I am just waiting for him to have AirForce One paint a giant TRUMP on the side of it like he painted his personal jet.................

They tell us that the Repub Party "foots the bill" for all his flying around to his political rallies and golfing trips. Bull shit. The Republicans only basically pay for the fuel in AirForce One, not the tens of millions for each trip in associated expenses. The C5A(s) transporting his helicopters, and limousines there and back, the cost of the secret service and their lodging costs at a Trump Hotel, the cost of the "advance" team, the cost of local police, the FBI protection crew, etc etc etc. Every single trip costs us tens of millions of dollars. He will be going non stop on his political rally junkets racking up hundreds of Billions more in debt.......The Cities bill for their costs, 500K to 1Million for each visit and the Republicans stiff the cities every single time and never pay the bill.......so our local taxes also pay for his rally junkets under the pretense that they are official presidential visits and not the true political rallies. Ask the Coast Guard what it costs them every.single.time he visits his mar a lagoon...................Ask surrounding cities what it costs the local businesses every time he goes there..........Ask air traffic control what gyrations they go thru shutting down airspace whenever he is in the air, causing nightmares for commercial airliners and their passengers who suffer long delays........
