It's a shame the Republicans didn't have any living presidents to showcase at their convention

Margaret and Helen discuss the conventions.

Teaser...

I think the Republicans had it hard. After four years of obstructing government, they had to do something really difficult. They had to put together a convention in Tampa while God flooded Louisianna. They had to convince a bunch of white, christians that camels are skinnier and needles have bigger eyes these days. And then they had to breathe life into a $3,000 business suit.

He's not allowed to leave the institution. It's for his own good, you know. They don't like talking about him. They would prefer he didn't exist.

Pretty soon their only living former president will be Shrub. And their only living former VPs will be Cheney and Quayle.

They have no standard bearer, no leader, no singular face who can represent them and their ideology.

He's only a few months older than Carter. Makes me think he doesn't want anything to do with the GOP, and it's as much that they are probably too extreme even for him now, as it is their desire to erase any memory of his idiot son being in office.

I suspect that may have something to do with it. But, I also think he's disgusted over how extreme his party has become.

Truth is, the DNC paid tribute to more Republican past Presidents than the RNC. Hope the pundits point this out to the 'loyal' RNC.
