Can you say double standard hypocritical MSM? It's the main reason I refuse to pay for cable news channels or support NPR. I don't have a lot of choice where my tax dollars go, but I sure as hell can control where my discretionary spending goes. And it ain't going to the MSM.

They gave him a pass in 2008 as someone with very little experience and did little to dig into his background.
But, there is a big but here.
He's a progressive, and as such doesn't carry default baggage of hate - cheating - lying - in bed with the rich - things that the media as professionals shortcut because they have common sense and deadlines.
It's not bias but just being practical.
romney has earned no such respect and is being treated as an equal to President Obama - which he is not.

I.e., they dug so far back into his past that we all know the doctor who delivered him, the Christian schools he attended when he he lived with his mother in Indonesia ("OMG! HE ATTENDED A 'MUSLIN' MADRASSA&quot and they even had crazies traveling to Kenya to comb through his father's family. They delved into the "Elitist™" high school that he attended and followed his college path from Occidental to Columbia and finally to Harvard.

They combed through his career at University of Chicago Law School where immediately, arguments ensued about whether he was really a "professor".

The one thing they didn't focus on was his 7 years in the IL State Senate because they wanted to project him as "inexperienced" and apparently someone bought that nonsense. Ironically I recall seeing some non-M$M post a "bubble" chart showing the types of legislation that he sponsored as a State Senator and by far the largest category of bills that he introduced were health care related.

So the so-called "non vetting" is all bullshit but racism is about that.
