Did Paul Ryan really say that? (edited--Video added!)

Last edited Sun Sep 9, 2012, 02:17 PM - Edit history (1)

(Edited to add: Yes, Paul Ryan really did make these outrageous claims--that he has more foreign-policy experience "coming into the job than President Obama had coming into his". This is must-see video from a man who is growing more Palinesque as the campaign rolls on. Link to video: http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7421092n )
-------------------

Sunday mornings are pretty boisterous and fun in this household. We cook big breakfasts and watch the Sunday talk shows. The dog is usually jumping around and the kids are always active while we all feast on homemade chocolate-chip waffles and intently watch the political news of the week.

So pardon me if I'm getting this wrong. Excuse me if I'm mucking this up--because I really hope all of the commotion in our household contorted a couple of comments that thought I heard Paul Ryan say on "This Week" this morning.

Did I hear this right?

Paul Ryan was asked about his foreign-policy credentials and what they were. He retorted that he had more foreign-policy experience than Obama did, when Obama ran for President. Since President Obama served on the foreign-relations committee and had earned some foreign-policy accolades, the reporter -- Nora O'Donnell -- wanted to know specifically what Paul Ryan's foreign-policy experience was.

I think this is the point where the dog was barking and my youngest daughter spilled maple syrup on the cat, but did I hear right?

Did Paul Ryan really say that his foreign-policy experience included: Going to funerals for our soldiers, voting on foreign-policy issues and visiting Iraq?

I need confirmation, because that truly would have to be one of the most insane, ridiculous and laughable comments ever made by a candidate for higher office. Did Paul Ryan really say that and did he not just hand us two week's worth of talking points and fodder for a really lovely new television commercial?

He's quite a remarkable fellow. Except the remarks are not suitable for mixed company.

I'm sorry if I'm being redundant, but this video shows Ryan's outrageous, laughable and amateur comments about his foreign-policy experience and credentials.

Watch the video, but here is his quote, that Ryan makes just prior to stating that he has more foreign-policy experience than President Obama had when Obama was a Senator. Obama was on the foreign-relations but Ryan believes that the following trumps Obama's foreign-policy experience:

"I voted to send men and women to war, I've been to Iraq and Afghanistan, I've met with our troops to get their perspectives. I've been to the funerals. I've talked to the widows, I've talked to the wives, the moms and the dads. That's something. That matters. I take that very seriously."

Should someone ask Ryan if he can see the war on terror from his house?

They aren't even in sync with each other, let alone with the party positions.

Thanks for posting because I ceased watching these shows because all of the hosts have allowed the lies and drivel to go on and on but I've seen Nora before and considering that Bob Shitffer is one of the most egregious, she has been a breath of fresh air!

It's total anarchy in the GOP. No one is driving the clown car, it just keeps going on its own.
