Yesterday UC Berkeley sent everyone an update of a confirmed case

of Coronavirus. It’s a graduate student who lives in a different city and is self isolating. It seems he got the virus while traveling. The campus had already stopped having classes on campus and all the classes have gone online, as have most staff work. Let’s hope the remedial actions were taken in time.

In any case few others would get infected since social isolation has been in effect for a few days. It won’t continue to spread out of control as it would if the campus was still full.
